Egy kis jóság tőlünk

Earlier the permanent storage of the vegetables grown in Cserdi was not possible, and as a result, our customers could be served in the short period following the ripening, only. Wild fruits e.g. blackberry and elderberry could not be picked at all because they would spoil immediately if not deep-frozen.

In 2016 we submitted our tender for a local economic development framework with our consortia partner, the Municipality of Baranya County (TOP-1.1.3-16-BA1), and we were notified about the subsidy in December 2017.

When we developed the architectural concept of the ‘Local product storage, cold storage, packaging and logistics base in Cserdi’ we told architect Dr Tamás Kondor (Cső Architectural Bureau, Pécs) that we had envisaged a building (alike the establishment itself) which would generate a paradigm shift in our village, but it was also important to represent that its founders, operators and users were Gipsy people. As this is the first Gipsy food logistics base in the world, the building shall be characteristic and receive special domestic and international attention in itself.

We will keep you informed about the progress of the construction works on our homepage.

We plan to process part of our vegetables too. Our mission, ‘A little goodness, from us’ will be fulfilled by building a manufactory where, among others, traditional Gipsy ratatouille will be made in the most modern food hygiene conditions.
